Emily McCorkell

Fire Cook, Food Anthropologist

Emily founded Wild & Fired to help people taste the landscape — to bring her work with fire, food, and place to the people who want to know where their meal came from and how it was cooked.

Her cooking sits at the intersection of fire-craft and food anthropology, drawing on the rituals, ingredients, and stories of Ireland's north-west and the wider Atlantic edge.

Emily writes, teaches, demonstrates and hosts. Available for editorial commissions, brand collaborations, demos, and speaking.

Where Two Worlds Meet

Derry sits between two great coastal journeys: the Wild Atlantic Way to the west, the Causeway Coastal Route to the east. A walled city on the Atlantic edge, rich in story, humour, hospitality & heart.

An urban base for wild country

We're rare in Irish tourism — the only city offering direct access to two of Ireland's great coastal routes. To the west: Donegal, Inishowen, and the rugged Wild Atlantic Way. To the east: the Antrim coast and the Causeway Coastal Route, taking in the Giant's Causeway, Bushmills, and Royal Portrush.

Inland: the Sperrin Mountains, an area of outstanding natural beauty, half an hour to the south. The City itself is one of Europe's finest fully walled cities — a vibrant, historic counterpoint to the wild country that surrounds it.

Wild & Fired sits in this meeting place. Our residency at Brook Hall puts us inside a six-generation estate on the river Foyle, fifteen minutes from City of Derry Airport, less than an hour from the Causeway and the Wild Atlantic Way.
